Back To School For Notts Architects Rayner Davies
10 Jul 2009
Notts-based architects Rayner Davies has been working on plans for a new classroom and multi-purpose room worth £250,000 at St John The Baptist Primary School in Colwick.
The new buildings, currently in for planning, will create more space for existing pupils, with the multi-purpose room offering space for volunteer groups and extra curricular activities at the school.
The extra development will feature a wooden clad building at the front entrance of the school. This is phase one of proposed plans, with phase two also in prospect - which would see a link to a main building and another extension.
Rayner Davies started on the project in April, Jonathan Bramley of Rayner Davies said: “We are hoping that planning will be granted for this project, it’s a great opportunity for development at the school and will provide more useful space for the current pupils.”
Headmaster Chris Belton said about the project: “We are really pleased with the proposed plans for the new building and feel it will provide much needed space for all the staff and pupils. The multi-purpose room will allow us to have a variety of extra curricular activities and hobbies taking place at the school – and overall more to offer the children. We are excited about the opportunities for all at the school.”
