Client: Hunt Habitats

Contract Value: £2.5m

A vibrant and exciting housing scheme of 14 townhouses and 10 apartments in Radcliffe-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire.

From the outset the distinctive redbrick boundary walls to Southside gave the site its own particular character; an enclave that encouraged a tailored and private ‘garden development’. Having been offered the opportunity by Hunt Habitats to provide an alternative to the standard provision of volume suburban housing, we have sought to develop a design with a bold and new aesthetic, aiming to reinterpret traditional building forms in a striking and contemporary manner.

The houses, mostly semi-detached, are arranged along a traditional avenue or boulevard. Generously proportioned rooms, benefiting from an abundance of natural daylight allow a high degree of user flexibility; attributes that make traditional houses so appealing, and that which we have looked to re-interpret here in an unashamedly contemporary manner.
