Situated on Alfreton Road, this Italian Restaurant was transformed within 6 months into a building that communicates again the traditional values of the urban grain of the area.

The important changes to the façade result not so much from structural alterations, such as the enlargement of the existing window openings on ground floor level and the widening of the entrance area, but in particular from a carefully selected range of materials. Whilst the glazed, dark red brick forms a reflective base, the render of the brick façade adds solidity to the design. This, in combination with the natural appearance of the ash doors, the clarity of glass blocks and the sharpness of the metal, gives the restaurant a varied but balanced new identity.
